As Mark has said, the server is currently undergoing a file system check. His ETA of 30 to 60 mins till completion (and the server coming back online) would make the time sometime between 17:35 and 18:05.

Hope that helps .

The time of his post was shown as 16.05 so the work should have been completed by now. Just noticed that times are shown as GMT not BST so his post was actually made at 17.05.

Time is showing as BST for me. I suggest you check your user control panel settings for your forum profile .

Nethertheless, your post was less than 30 mins after the post of Mark, therefore whatever the time the forum is displaying for you it still shows that 30-60 mins had not elapsed yet .

Oh, I've just made a thread about this. May as well use the same thread to complain about a server that doesnt like serving up pages. I make this after 18:30, and my website hosting (all on puma) are still down.

The performance from puma is unacceptable, it's down so much lately.

EDIT: Have just seen eUKHost stating they have a new server to replace Puma. Well, that's fine with me. Get replacing!

Hello All,

Puma is now up and all the sites should be working again.
We look forward to move all the account of Puma to a Brand new E5420 server as soon as possible.

Thank you for being patient & co-operative.

Thanks for your continuing contact and updates. Everything's up. Ironically, I was told by an email from siteuptime.com telling me my website hosting was down. Gotta love irony.

Either way, what's the timescale for the move? Are we talking 12 hours, a couple of days, a fortnight, etc.?

This has not been scheduled yet. It depends on the severity of the problem, Alex is looking into this and we will soon be able to give you a time frame.

Not quite - I posted at 17.31 thinking that Mark's post was made at 16.05 - one and a half hours earlier. Not until you pointed it out did I notice the time difference.

As for control panel settings, I have it set for GMT with "Adjust for Daylight Saving Time" selected as there is no BST option.

But we're getting sidetracked. How long have we been without Puma today, and all the other days that something goes wrong with it? Hopefully they'll get it sorted with this migration you mentioned in a previous post.

Is puma in the process of being moved? At the moment my FTP folder is completely empty, despite the website hosting working fine. Auto-responses are gone, email inboxes only contain stuff from overnight it seems, and cPanel layout has reset itself (which first alerted me).

Puma is having issues once again. We are running a manual FSCK at the moment. This will be migrated over the weekend onto a new E5420 processor server.

I gather FSCK tends to be 60-90 minutes though can be longer. It's a complete pain in the a*** however is necessary.

Chris,

We are still working on it. The file-system check is still on-going. We have once and for all decided to move Puma to our new E-5420 series servers. I will keep you updated. We apologise for the delays.

Yes, you are right. But this was unavoidable. We always try and avoid FSCK. Its performed only when there is no other option available.

Can you be sure that nothing is lost from the previous servers like emails, cronjobs, autoresponders etc, etc
