This is a new E5420 Server and there's absolutely no reason for this server to face such problems. We are not able to see any reason in logs nor do we see anything wrong once we reboot this server. This has happened for the 3rd time in last 4 days and we have decided to replace chassis of the server to see if there's anything wrong with Hardware of the server. I'm not sure if this problem will get sorted after replacing the Chassis as we are short of any solutions in current situation.

Our next attempt would be to replace each drive one by one if server goes down again even after replacing chassis.

The technical support team are saying its a hardware fault however you have just said it required a reboot. If you "decided" to replace the chassis, why wern't customers notified of planned downtime. To me, it sounds like theres been a hardware fault as you had to get people at the data centre to look at the server, this was not planned.

The level of support in eUKhost has declined over the past year most definately.

how can someone predict hardware fault when server has no problem once you power cycle it ?

Load remains below 0.10 all the time and suddenly we loose our access to the server. NOC guys who reboot this server don't manage to see any sort of notification on panel nor do we see anything in logs once the server gets rebooted.

We've not scheduled chassis swap till now as we will swap chassis only if the server goes down again tomorrow.

Server is online now. We didn't swap chassis of the server as it will take more than an hour for RAID rebuild. We will schedule Chassis swap on weekend if required.

I'll keep you posted if we manage to find the reason today.

I asked in a support ticket to move server and was told:

Also, I think that the issues with Bristol are sorted out now, hence the migration to another server wouldn't be necessary.
So since you dont know whats happening with this server, i've requested a move now

As you wish

We have no problem in moving your account to other server.

new server has been setup and data will be restored on it. Existing server should be online shortly.

We were forced to perform RAID resync on reboot. Resync takes long time and nothing can be done to avoid this delay in RAID resync. We need to wait for the old server to come online as fresh data can be migrated only once we manage to read data from the old server.

This is getting beyond a joke.

Our website hostings are down AGAIN!

This is the 4th - 5th time in 10days!

Are we expected another 8hour downtime?
How can we be expected to run our business with these problems? We have clients complaining. Our google hits are leading to blank pages. Our customers are not able to view / purchase any products.

I suggest you go on livechat to find out what's going on as at the weekend replies on here are not usually as fast as during the week.

Thanks. I am currently on the live chat. I spoke to John Strong on Thursday and Friday regarding this issue, but have left his number at the office. I am trying to obtain this number now to discuss.
