How to Install Softaculous on your Linux Dedicated Server ?
Before installing Softaculous, make sure you have cPanel installed on your dedicated server and must have root access in order to install softaculous successfully.
Step 1: It might be possible that you will get the following error after the installation is complete.
Site error: the file /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/softaculous/enduser/main/functions.php requires the ionCube
PHP Loader ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so to be installed by the site administrator.
To avoid this error, make sure you have enabled the ionCube Loader from the WHM >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings before starting the installation.
Step 2: Now, login into your dedicated server using root.
Step 3: Through the Secure SHell (SSH) enter the commands shown below to download the softaculous software from their official site. Make sure the path you enter to download the softaculous addon is correct.
[root@localhost ~]# cd /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi
[root@localhost ~]# wget -N http://www.softaculous.com/ins/addon_softaculous.php
[root@localhost ~]# chmod 755 addon_softaculous.php
Step 4: Once you are done with the above command, navigate to the WHM >> Plugins/Add-Ons >> Softaculous – Instant Installs. The below image will be displayed with the message “Congratulations, Softaculous was installed successfully”.
