Q. Do you have any server components for ASP available on your Windows Hosting Servers?

Ans. ASPUpload, ASPmail, Jmail, ASPJpeg, ASPpdf, ASPemail are the ASP components which are available on our Windows Shared Hosting servers as standard. In case of Windows VPS Hosting, Windows Semi Dedicated Server and Windows Dedicated Servers these components can be installed on client request if they provide the necessary licenses for all the above components. We won’t charge any fees for installation of any of the above ASP components on clients’ servers.

Q. What is average response time of customer support?

Ans. The average response time for support tickets raised via our 24×7 helpdesk is 25-30 minutes without an auto response. The maximum resolution time cannot be committed though as it depends on how critical the support issue is. We recommend our clients to use ticket support for complicated issues as they usually take a few hours to resolve whilst for smaller issues, live chat and phone support are the best support modes as small issues can be resolved within a few minutes and you as a client won’t need to call back again or come back on live chat. Ans. We will provide you with the FTP login once you signup. You can use those details to upload your website. Make sure that you upload your contents inside the public_html directory once you signup and connect using FTP login information. You can setup email redirection from your control panel. Q. Do you offer Telnet Access?

Ans. Unfortunately, we do not offer Telnet Access in our shared hosting environment due to security procedures in place. Due to access through UNIX/Linux based servers using this program, the vulnerability of hacks as well as script based utilities for misuse, we cannot offer this feature at this time. However you would still able to unzip files on the server using our file manager and you will also have the ability to setup cron jobs to chmod, etc. through various tools within your Cpanel.

Q. Do you offer Dedicated IP Addresses? I think I may need this due to SSL Certificates. Is this correct?

Ans. Yes, we do offer Dedicated IP Addresses as an addon on our web hosting plans. the cost for one dedicated IP is £2.00 per month or £20.00 per year. Cost of a private SSL certificate is £25.00 per year. You won’t need to buy an IP address separately for using private SSL with us if you buy the SSL certificate from us. We provide Dedicated IP free with private SSL certificate.

If you wish to use a private SSL certificate from another provide on our hosting plan, you can do so. You will only need to buy a dedicated IP from us to be able to use the SSL certificate from another provider. Apart from SSL certificate installation, a dedicated IP is usually needed for Anonymous FTP access, for SEO purposes and for some other IP specific applications.

When you have a dedicated IP, you can view your website using your domain name or the IP address. If you domain is not yet pointing to your hosting account, this will allow you to view your site online, without using your domain name. This is mainly an advantage to new clients, so they can view their website prior to their domain resolving.

Q. I wish to transfer my domain to you prior to purchasing a reseller package because I want this to be the main account domain.

Ans. You can certainly transfer your domain name to our registry and use it as the primary domain name on your reseller hosting plan with us. At the time of ordering your hosting plan, all you need to do is select the option “Transfer my Existing Domain name“. This would allow us to initiate the domain transfer request for your domain name. In this case an automated domain transfer request is initiated and your domain name is received under our registry along with 1 year renewal. Your hosting account would be setup in a maximum of 25 minutes but domain transfer may take 24 - 48 hours. Our support staff will assist you with transfer of your client accounts to your hosting plan with us once set-up so you won’t need to worry too much about the data transfer for the accounts either.

Q. How do I check if Frontpage Extensions are installed on my website or not? What if the FrontPage extensions are not working?

Ans. We support all versions of FrontPage extensions on all our Windows Hosting servers and couple of our Linux Hosting Servers. Frontpage extensions support has been discontinued on our other Linux Shared servers because Microsoft has discontinued FrontPage extension support for the Unix platform and we have recently observed severe intrusion attempts using FrontPage vulnerabilities. These intrusions attempts could affect every user on our shared Linux hosting servers. However FrontPage publishing support is still available with our Windows Hosting plans. These special Linux servers have been reserved for only those clients who need Frontpage extensions support on Linux servers.

How to check if Frontpage Extensions are installed ?

If you open your website in IE from your local computer then you should see a frontpage icon showing on top navigation of your browser. This would verify that frontpage extensions are installed for your account. You have frontpage icon in your control panel. You can uninstall frontpage extensions and reinstall from there. If you have some other problem then you can also try and cleanup old extensions.

Q. Hosting 2 different sites under one account?

Ans. You can certainly host 2 different domains under one account but for that you have to create an add-on domain, when you want to host 2 different sites under same plan (shared hosting) you will have to use the add-on domain function which is provided with your package. This domain would be created under your main domain. You can also add unlimited email accounts to your domain through cPanel.

Q. I need to know if you are able to transfer my two .co.uk domains from other registrar to your hosting?

Ans. You can transfer any number of domain names to our registry and host them on any of our web hosting plans. Transfer fees for .com, .net, .info, .biz domains is £6.00 while for .co.uk, .me.uk and .org.uk domains is £12.00. In the case of .uk domains transfer, you will have to change the IPS TAG or ask your domain registrar to change the IPS tag of your domain name. The tag needs to be pointed to ENOM to get the domains transferred to our registry. In case of .com, .net, .org, .biz domains transfer, you will need to provide us the EPP key for the domain name for us to initiate the transfer process. We will initiate the transfer request for your domain to get it transferred to our hosting once you pay the applicable domain transfer fees.

Q. I have not used a virtual private server before, I am on shared hosting at the moment, I want to know the differences between the two
