Q. Do I need to transfer my domain prior to purchasing a web hosting package?

It is not necessary for a customer to transfer his/her domain name to our registry with a web hosting plan. If you wish to keep control of your domain name through some other registrar, choose the option “I will update my nameservers only” option at the time of hosting package order.

If you wish to transfer the domain name under our registration then choose the option “Transfer my Existing Domain name” at the time of hosting plan order, as that would allow us to initiate a transfer request for your domain name. Automated requests are initiated in that case and your domain name is received under our registry along with 1 year renewal. Your hosting account would be setup in less than 30 minutes but domain transfer may take 24 – 48 hours.

Our support staff can assist you with transfer of your accounts as well so you don’t need to worry much about the data transfer part.
