Q. What is domain propagation?
Ans. Domain Propagation is the period of time, or delay, involved in sending your domain’s address information to all the other name servers in the world. Name servers intentionally keep track of addresses for domains in their memory for a specific period of time which is defined by the administrator of the name server. This speeds up the process of looking up an address for a domain name. Unfortunately this “cached” information also stays in the name servers when it has been changed at the source of the original information (the domain’s registrar).
Name servers refresh themselves from once an hour to once a day. Generally 2-3 days time is a good estimate when a domain’s DNS information is changed at the domain registrar, after which everyone in the world can see the change.

Q. How do I set quotas on multi-hosted domains?
Ans. The quota can only be set for email accounts or the entire hosting account. With shared hosting, multi-hosted domains share the disk and bandwidth of the account as they are part of one account. If you wish to setup proper quotas for domains, you will need to upgrade to a Reseller Hosting, VPS Hosting or Dedicated Server Hosting, where you can create separate hosting accounts with their own quotas, and independant control panel.

Q. Who would be the registered owner of the domain you offer with your packages? Will I be able to transfer this domain later to another host, or put it into my name? Is this the same if I add a .co.uk address later, will I be the registered owner with nominet, or will eUKhost?
Ans. You are legal owner of the domain name and you will remain the registered owner. You can carry your domain name with you if you decide to cancel the hosting account with us. We will reduce £6 from the hosting fees if you decide to take advantage of our 30 day money back guarantee, as domain registration fees cannot be refunded.
.co.uk domains are registered using your name as the registrant name which cannot be changed easily. Whois information is set to your address by default for .co.uk domains as the domains are not allowed to be registered under our whois info. You can request our billing department to change the whois information once the domain name is registered but the registrant name will remain as the name on the billing account.

Q. Is there a way to have control of the MX record for a domain? I have one domain that I need to direct to a Windows Exchange Server and so need MX record control on that one. Is this possible?
Ans. If you choose a shared hosting package then you will need to ask our support team to modify MX record entries for your domain name and make them point to your exchange server.
If you wish to edit the MX record settings from your end then you will need to choose a reseller hosting package to control your DNS settings and MX record entries. Resellers get WHM access through which they can manage various functions for all accounts under their main primary account.

Q. I have been told that I need to transfer my domain to you prior to purchasing a reseller package because I want this to be the main account domain. I wish to transfer my domain as soon as possible, my existing reseller account expires in about 6 days so this has all become rather urgent as I have 10 sites that I need to transfer to your servers before I lose that account.
Ans. Select the option “Transfer my Existing Domain name” when you order the package as that would allow us to initiate the domain transfer request for your domain name. In this case an automated domain transfer request is initiated and your domain name is received under our registry along with 1 year renewal. Your hosting account would be setup in maximum of 25 mins but domain transfer may take 24 - 48 hours. Our support staff will assist you with transfer of your accounts as well so you won’t need to worry much about the data transfer for the accounts.
