Do you support WordPress blog?

Q. Can I use WordPress blog software on my site ?

Ans. WordPress works fine on our servers, you can use it on your website. If you have a cPanel hosting account with us then you should have no problems in installing wordpress from the Fantastico section of your control panel. You can take a look at Fantastico Scripts to learn more about the scripts included in Fantastico.

Additionally, we have PHP 4.4.4 on some of the servers and PHP 5.1.2 on the other servers, so you should not face any problems when configuring wordpress blog.
Wordpress will give you some code to add in .htaccess of your account which will enable mod_rewrite for your account and your WordPress blog will run smoothly without problems.

Upgrading existing joomla installation

Q. Does Fantastico allow auto upgrades to my existing joomla installation?

Ans. Fantastico stores installation data inside your account (below public_html). You will need to ensure that you make proper package of your account before uploading that on our servers. You can also get the account transfer done from our staff as we can get this done quickly and you won’t loose any data from your account we would take care of your data transfer.

Mostly Webmasters prefer to upgrade Joomla manually as upgrade from Fantastico overrides custom styles and navigation so you need to make sure that you take a full backup of your Joomla installation before upgrading from Fantastico.

Fantastico updates

Ans. We have configured auto updates for Fantastico and that runs through a cronjob every night. If there are any updates from netenberg then those are fetched and installed. This updates are applicable for all scripts included in Fantastico.
