Q. How will you transfer my existing registered domain?

Ans. For transferring your registered domain all you need to do is choose the “Transfer my existing domain name” at the time of signup and we will take care of initiating transfer request for your domain name. If you have a .co.uk domain name then you will need to ask your existing registrar/hosting company to retag your domain name and point the IPS Tags to “ENOM“. We will accept your domain name in our registry once the IPS tags point to our Tag.

Q. Can I get a Dedicated IP Address?

Ans. You can have a dedicated IP address, however you will have to pay extra for it. We charge £2 per month for a dedicated IP address.

Q. Do you offer extra bandwidth and extra disk space? If so what are the charges?

Ans. If you need extra bandwidth or extra disk space on your existing package, the best option would be to upgrade to the next higher package as that would be a cost effective solution for you. We do not charge any upgrade fees, you will only need to pay the difference in the price of the two packages.

Q. I need my own website? What do I need?

Ans. In order to have your own website, you’ll need a few important things. First of all, you’ll need an Internet address, i.e a domain name, like http://www.mydomain.com; this is how people will find your website on the Internet. Once you’ve found your domain name, you’ll need to order it and then build your website. We provide an easy-to-use tool website builder tool to build your first website which doesn’t require any experience. There is no software to download or install, as it runs in your web browser from our servers. Finally, you’ll need a hosting service to allow people on the Internet to be able to access your new website. You’ll find information on our website on the costs for website builder and our website hosting services.

Q. Do you support Java on your servers?

Ans. We do not support JSP pages on our Unix Hosting plans but Javascripts are supported. Java is fully supported on our Windows Hosting plans.

Q. Do you offer hosting for Poker, Online Gambling websites or Online Casino’s?

Ans. We have no problems with hosting your Poker and Online Gambling websites as long as you are granted the necessary permissions by license, permit, registration, or exemption, as provided by the Bill.

If you don’t have necessary license then you need to ensure that nothing illegal is operated from your account as per UK laws. Online Casino, Gambling and Poker is illegal in USA but not in the UK so we have no problem in hosting your online Gambling, Casino or Poker website.

All thats important for us is that you should not create problems for other websites or you should not break copyright infringement rights of anyone else. You will also need to agree and accept our No Spam Policy, Terms of Service and Service Level Agreement.

Q. What is the provision for backups?

Ans. eUKhost backs up each system every week. The backups are available for complete system failure only.

Customers requesting file restores will be charged extra to retreive data. We will soon be offering FTP backup space allowing you to control your own data retention schedules.

Alternately, we have started and additional Offsite data back up service to allow our corporate customers to keep a daily backup of their mission critical data. We will setup daily, weekly & Monthly rsync crons to copy backup of your accounts on your backup space. This service is an addon service and backup service included in your hosting plan won’t be compromised for promotion of this addon backup service.

Q. Can you help transfer my website to your servers?

Ans. We will help you transfer your current website over to our servers. In order to do this, we will need the login details for your domain registrar and the FTP login details for your current web host. With these details, we’ll be able to copy your website over to our servers and update your domain to switch your services over to our hosting service. We will do this for you free of charge.

Q. How long will it take to setup my VPS account?

Ans. eUKhost VPS Hosting plans are configured to enable access to your server administration panel within 12-24 hours. The only ocassion when the provisioning can be delayed, is in the case of an order that receives a high fraud score. To ensure that your account is built quickly please refrain from using free email services, and always ensure that you enter accurate billing information.

Q. Can I use an existing website with your hosting?

Ans. You can use an existing website with our hosting service. You will need to upload a copy of your website to our servers, which is typically done using a web publishing program or an FTP transfer program. We will provide you with an FTP login once you signup. You can use those details to upload your website. Make sure that you upload your contents inside public_html directory.
