PUBLIC KEY ENCRYPTION

PUBLIC KEY ENCRYPTION

It is a system, a cryptographic system, which uses two keys a public key known to everyone and a private or secret key known only to the recipient of the message. The most important feature of the public key system is that these two keys are related to each other is such a way that the public key can be used to only encrypt the message & its corresponding private key can be used to decrypt that message.

This encryption method is used by SSL to send crucial information between client and the server like the session key etc.
