      FP extensions on windows servers

Is there a security risk on Windows servers running FP extensions?

By the way I like Frontpage, despite it's quirks. Primarily, for us beginners it was a lot cheaper than Dreamweaver, and to make a large site, it automated so many tasks that would have been difficult for me to code by hand as a beginner.

        Hi John,

Frontpage is still supported on Windows, but no new version has been released for Frontpage extensions from few years.

Just to add that Frontpage can still be used no problem - just change the upload method to FTP .

          Hope that helps.

Just to be absolutely clear on this Mark, it will be ALL your cPanel servers, including VPS Hosting and dedicated?

On a VPS or dedicated someone can install them by himself!

I have build my portal www.istories.gr

Indeed. As the post title says - this only affects shared servers.

Yes, on a VPS and dedicated server you can compile it, if required. Still, we do not recommend it as it has few vulnerabilities.

Yes, well out of development and updates. I think even its successor (Expression Web) is out of development and updates also.

Well I've got the folders etc there now. Everything is in conflict, should I synchronize?

I'm afraid you may have to elaborate a bit more.

If you've got a local up to date copy update the host files with the local files .

Well that was a clever move Microsoft didn't think about.

New version 4 released a couple of months ago, and a free update from version 3.
