  • Edge Computing - The New Cloud Computing

    What is Edge Computing?

The processing power is always centralized in cloud computing. Data travels from a device to servers and gets processed there. The output is then pushed back to the device.
Edge computing moves these heavy processing tasks closer to the point of origin and hence the word "Edge."

This technology reduces the time that is taken by the data needs to travel thus reducing latency and cutting reliance on internet connections. This results in improved reliability and faster, reliable decision making at the edge.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the areas of its application. Edge Computing helps to completely transform the way AI can be applied to various scenarios.

Yes, Edge computing refers to data processing power at the edge of a network rather than holding it in a cloud or a central data warehouse.
Edge computing can also be related to "fog computing," that necessitates data processing from the edge to the cloud

Edge computing is a way to streamline the flow of traffic from IoT devices in order to provide real-time local data analysis. The reason why carrying a computing task closer to the edge of the network is important for organizations to analyse the data in near real-time.

One of the key benefits from edge computing its ability to reduce latency. Processing data at the edge of the network helps to reduce the load on networks by reducing the volume of data pushed back to the core network.
