WhatsApp does not provide a built-in feature to hide your online status. However, you can try the following methods to minimize the visibility of your online activity:- Disable Read Receipts: Go to WhatsApp settings, select "Account," then "Privacy." Disable the "Read Receipts" option. Keep in mind that by doing this, you won't be able to see when others have read your messages either.
- Turn off Last Seen Timestamp: In the same "Privacy" settings, you can adjust the "Last Seen" option to either "Everyone," "My Contacts," or "Nobody." Choosing "Nobody" will prevent others from seeing when you were last active.
- Restrict Visibility to Contacts Only: In the "Privacy" settings, you can change the "Profile Photo," "About," and "Status" options to be visible only to your contacts or to specific contacts you choose.
- Use WhatsApp in Incognito Mode: Some smartphones have a feature that allows you to use apps in incognito or private mode. This might prevent WhatsApp from displaying your online status, but it varies depending on the device.
- Use WhatsApp in Offline Mode: By turning off Wi-Fi or mobile data before opening WhatsApp, you can read and compose messages without triggering the online status notification. However, as soon as you reconnect to the internet, your online status will be visible.
