WordPress one of the most prevalent platforms offered for making a blog or a website. WordPress is built on PHP and MySQL. WordPress is easy to setup, offers lots of themes, has strong SEO features and has a friendly user interface. Joomla, on the other hand, has a strong community of developers, strong content management capabilities, two-factor authentication for security. There are 3 options to migrate website:
Manual import, Hiring services of migration specialist, using online migration tools

To migrate from WordPress to Joomla. I would recommend the 3rd options using tools as it is the most uncomplicated and economical way.

But before you start you need to perform some step prior to the migration:

Install Joomla and make sure that Joomla and WordPress site are online.
Keep the details of login credentials you will require it to establish a connection bridge on the WordPress Website.
The custom ULR structure for Joomla must be set up preceding the migration so that the internal links work properly.
    Install the select Joomla plugins.

          1. First take a note of the following files of your WordPress website

          Database name
          Database user
          Database password
          Database host
          Database prefix

          2. Go to your Joomla website and install JConverter. Go to global configuration of JConverter and fill in the database information collected in step 1.
          3. Save the data and click on Start Conversion
          4. A screen will appear showing the status of the imported data.
          5. To make sure your data has been imported successfully, go to Category Manager, Article Manager and User Manager and check the data so imported.

Pointing out the obvious, make sure you backup fully and restore elsewhere to make sure its working before you do any kind of conversion,

Thanks for your inputs Priya & Brian.

Alright migrating with tool seems much easier than manual work. But does that tool provide support in case of any difficulty?

Well Brain you will hardly face any difficulty. This tool is way too simple and flexible for switching your word press website. However, to avoid any difficulty, it is recommended to install the latest version of Joomla without any sample data. Install JConverter, do the configuration and then import. It is that easy!
