    LinkedIn hacked

Login details of 117 million of LinkedIn users are possessed by a hacker intending to put the login credentials on sale. This is from the same theft way back in 2012 where an additional set of data has been released that is email and hashed password combinations. It is advised to change the password of LinkedIn accounts. On the other hand, LinkedIn is taking steps to overcome this issue.

LinkedIn presented salting after the attack, but that only benefits the login databases it created afterwards. It is advisable for the users to create secure password while the signup.

Yeah. Moreover, password change is recommended. Messages have been sent to people whose accounts have the probability of hacking. With the password change, hackers cannot access the account and thus saving your personal information.

LinkedIn has demanded people to stop making available the password information and said that it will assess potential legitimate action if they fail to meet the terms.

Nothing is concrete as of now. But, this seems to be a random act of data theft. The hacker named "Peace" supposedly, has put up the login credentials for sale.

Yes David. Legitimate actions should be taken as this act of theft can adversely effect the brand image and brand value thus provoking users to not to continue on LinkedIn.
