Thanks for your reply, Looking at the stats, there are quite few affiliates who loose interest for the fact that there are no earnings even after 2 months. For an example please check out the last reply.

Thanks RobHall for the informative post. I have noticed many of the affiliates who promote their business through websites or blogs but I notice that they do not have a very great content posted on their blogs or websites which does not help them to get good rankings on search engines and neither visitors find the content interesting. Do you think this is the reason they do not get good business ?

First of all, let me tell you that it's not necessary that you should have a blog or a website to promote your affiliate business. There are affiliates who manage to generate affiliate income/sale by other means some of which Robhall has mentioned in his post. However, having a blog or a website definitely helps you to promote your affiliate business.

If you have a blog or a website to promote your affiliate business, it's important that you have written useful content on it so that if some visitors land up on your blog or website (whether through some other sites or search engines), they understand that you have got good knowledge about the products and services and hence your recommendation would be useful. If you manage to convince them that you have got good amount of knowledge of the products and services and you have helped them in some way, they will definitely use your affiliate link if they want to purchase the product or service you are referring to.

Blog or a website does provide you a platform to promote your affiliate link indeed, but IMO. one cannot stay restricted just there. Now-a-days most netizens are active on some or the other social networking site where you have your own networks of friends, colleagues etc. you may encash this network for promotional purpose as well.

I would agree with Catherine til some extend here.. Having your own website or blog would definitely help to promote affiliate business. Although there are other ways to promote the affiliate business but to have your own website is quite essential now a days.

Secondly, in terms of the content part, as i mentioned in the post the first and most essential factor for successful affiliate business is to Know your niche product!

Knowing your niche is like already heading half way to your success path. If you know your product inside out helps one to promote it in most effective and convening ways. If you can present that why your product is worth buying than any other, definitely you will get unique hits and sale too.

Indeed, having your own website or blog do helps to promote the affiliate business. Like said by RobHall, knowing your product is a half way to your success. If you have a proper knowledge about the product you are gonna promote, people will definitely get convinced and opt for the solution. Affiliate promotion can be done through any source, if you perfect in communicating with your website, blog audience or fans on social networking sites.

The best part of Affiliate program is the fact that you can become an Affiliate of some companies from the same industry at the same time and thus can fulfill the requirements of your customers by referring them to a company which offers the most suitable product according to the requirements of your customers. Though, some experience will be needed to manage this but IMO it is possible.

If you are an affiliate of a web hosting company, and you are looking forward to promote your link, IMO. you need not have a very deep knowledge of your niche. Though if you do have, its good for you. But, for anyone who wishes to have an online venture, it is required to host the website and the data onto a webserver. So even if you have website that focusses on a different niche, you still have scope of conversion (though the chances are reduced) and earning an affiliate income. The affiliate link would indeed be seen by the visitors on your site, hence would bring in better chances as well.

In short, no matter what is the niche of your website, you only need to focus on getting traffic.

                        Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing overlaps with other Internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, e-mail marketing, and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques, such as publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.

Good point John, review sites are becoming a significant way to ascertain the product or service status in market. As an effect it has become one of the best technique of affiliate marketing.

Are you giving up your affiliate business?

Affiliate business is the appropriate step in the right direction that can take you to the desirable path of success. This is generally considered as the science that tells about the theory to become rich. Affiliate business is a passive income source for you. This means you receive income without doing anything more than advertising other websites products on your site.

In order to get success from web hosting affiliate programs, it is necessary to place the ad in the position on your website. If the ad is being placed on a blog, then you must make sure that it is appropriate. Moreover it is also important that whatever content you post is rich with keywords so that it has a higher ranking in the search engines and then there is also a better response to the ads.
