  • Linux based email and web hosting

    Hello,

We are looking for professional Linux based email and web hosting with around 1000 users, around 25000 emails per day, setting up IMAP accounts with fast synchronization (through limiting synchronization of emails by date or number).

25000 emails per day, it’s quite a lot… you need to consider dedicated server for this kind of a need, however, don’t forget to check per/hour limit for sending out emails. Also, ensure that the source of the email addresses is traceable (i.e. Double-opt-in). Though, you will find it difficult to convince the host to allow you to send this much amount of emails daily.

      Hello Irene,

Amount of our users is less than 1000 in the begining, but may increase in future. Considerig the fact that we want to use Linux mail server, I consider amount of users and size of each mailbox may not be a big issue until your overall capacity is avalable. For the begining, I think 2TB space could be fine and we can increase whenever we wanted.

        Hello Robin,

Considering the fact that it would be a Linux based solution there are no limitation on the number of email accounts you can create, also you can create the mailboxes.

        Regards,
        Fred Adkins

Curious to know how to access the IMAP quarantine? Is there any option to put certain user in the blacklist?

I guess it is possible through the email client, as long as it supports IMAP accounts.

                  Hello Otto,

You may either use POP or IMAP as incoming mail server, the port number changes accordingly.
You need to tweak the settings of your email software, instead of using POP (110) use IMAP (143) (The IMAP port no. is cool as well) For SSL use port 993 for IMAP.

                  Hope this helps
