phpMyAdmin is a free and open-source MySQL and MariaDB administration tool. It has become one of the most popular MySQL administration tools, especially for web hosting services, as a portable web application developed mostly in PHP.

Yes you can rename the database in the phpMyAdmin using cPanel.
Follow the steps to rename the database:
    1. Log in to cPanel.
    2. Click on MySQL Databases.
    3. Scroll down the page to the “Current Databases section”.
    4. Click on the “Rename” option.
    5. Add a new name and click on the “Proceed” option.
