What is an MX record and How to create it in cPanel?

I want to know what is an MX record and how to create it in the cPanel. So, can anyone help me with the required information?

The server that handles your domain's email is specified via an MX Record. The MX records for your addon domain will default to your Doteasy mail server. However, you can update this to redirect the addon domain to a different mail server at any time.

The mail service will try to associate to that IP address by searching the A-record. The mail service will return your email to you if there are no A-records or nothing is listening on the port

You can register MX record in the way discussed below:
            1. Log in to cPanel.
            2. Select the “Domains” section and click on “Zone Editor”
            3. Select the domain in which you want to make changes and click on the “+MX Record” button.
            4. Enter the “Priority” and “Destination” settings.
            5. Finally click on the “Add an MX Record” option.
This way you can add an MX record in cPanel.
