A MIME type is also known as "media type and “content-type".

    The procedure is as follows:
    1. Log in to your cPanel account.
    2. From Advance Section from your cPanel dashboard click the MIME Type icon.
    3. From the MIME Types page under Create A MIME Type enter the following:
    a. MIME Type: Enter the name of the file type’s handler in the MIME Type text box.
    For example, application/ cgi
    b. Extension(s):Enter the file extension in the Extension(s) text box.
For example: .cgi , Separate multiple extension types with a space
    4. Click Add button.
    5. To delete just click on the delete button.
    6. You will get a success message after the required actions.

On most servers, the text/HTML MIME type translates to.htm,.html, and .shtml extensions, and tells your browser to treat any files with those extensions as HTML files.

MIME is Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions.
It instructs browsers on how to handle specific file kinds. When a file has been sent to a browser of visitors to your website, it also conveys the file's MIME type.
