  • Fatal error: Cannot redeclare JConfig::$password

    Hi,

    I setup a website using joomla on my PC, now i've transfered the website to my site, using a guide i found on a website called siteground.

    But i keep getting this error message 'Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL' I check the configuration.php and i didn't have a 'var $password = 'password';' entry, so i added one. But now i get this error message 'Fatal error: Cannot redeclare JConfig::$password in /home/cannockl/public_html/configuration.php on line 51'

    My configuration.php currently looks like this (showing the row i entered)

    var $dbtype = 'mysql';
    var $host = 'localhost';
    var $user = 'username';
    var $password = 'xxxxxxxx';
    var $db = 'databasename';
    var $dbprefix = 'jos_';
    var $mailer = 'mail';

    Please can anyone offer some advice on how i can fix this?

    Dan

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare JConfig::$password

    Hello Dan,

    I have commented the line number 51 as the "var $password " entry was already present under the configuration file at line number 36 and assigned the user name for your database by from cpanel >> MySQL Databases. Now I am able to access your domain without any error.
