How to reduce cost of cloud data center?

How a data center can minimize the costs of new data center, if it contains around 160 dual core servers running in it?

What are the potential ways to minimize the cost of hardware and electricity utilized in a data center, especially if it is going to be just a cloud data center?

Kindly, suggest some useful ways, as it will have huge impact on the data center.

Hello Shred, could you please specify what you actually mean by the term "Cloud Data Center" ?

According to my knowledge, cloud is a virtualisation technique applied on a cluster of servers. Yes, if talking about a Data Center then, for not just Cloud but any affordable web hosting solution, its got to be a reliable data center.

Well, in order to minimize the electricity bills, instead of AC's you can use the new Liquid Blade units which cools the blades with a non-conductive liquid cooling solution. This is much more effective than AC's that are used to cool the servers. Liquid cooling is one of the best way that offers a more efficient heat transfer than that of air, and provides potential savings to data centers.

Well, for your new cloud data center, you can buy new energy efficient web servers and make sure you use Virtualization to utilize the maximum of your hardware.

I agree with I have too heard about the liquid cooled blades and really impressed that it remarkably saves energy over 50%. However, in my opinion you will still require the A/C as not all the equipments in the data centers are blade servers, the storage and the networking will still require some air flow.

          Hi,
You can go for virtual data center which minimize the infrastructure cost. It minimizes the cost by reducing space, hardware cost and electricity bills. Also I agree with the points suggested by SeanyG about the liquid cooled blades.
