  • Availability of cPanel Control Panel on CentOS 7.X Operating System

    Dear Customers,

Just creating this thread to answer some of the queries related to availability of the cPanel control panel with CentOS 7.X. operating system. As per the update on cPanel Feature Request posts, Cpanel has already started working on this request and development is still ongoing for CentOS 7 support. cPanel stated that control panel should be supported on CentOS 7.X in their 11.50 release.

RHEL 7 was made available in June of last year and then CentOS 7 came out without much delay. As RHEL 7 & CentOS 7 will not natively support 32-bit hardware, cPanel too planned to drop support for a 32 bit version OS.

CentOS-7 is now powered by version 3.10.0 kernel, with advanced support for Linux Containers and XFS as the default file system and there many more new features included in the same release. To keep the control panel bug free and achieve almost compatibility with new OS, Cpanel must be considering all the testing and R&D on broken/new features.

One of the Cpanel admins recently posted that they have tested 1200+ RPMs, EasyApache installer and restartsrv scripts with systemD adoption successfully so far.

As soon as cPanel Inc. announces availability of the stable/release control panel version for RHEL/CentOS 7, we will post an update on this thread and will start providing VPS/Dedicated server with the same OS release. We will also plan and schedule OS upgrade on our shared servers to experience new features and improved security and performance of CentOS 7 with cPanel 11.50 release.

If you still have any query or concern for the same, please feel free to comment here and also on the following features request post as well.

As it’s the latest version, so I really need this one. Thanks for update @Kieran. But no more 32 bit ; anyway that is not a big concern for me, however, I would like to know whether R1Soft have updated their kernel module with it or not?

        Hi Irene9001 !

Yes. R1Soft kernel module should get compiled on Centos 7 with kernel 3.10.x as well if the kernel headers package is installed.
