The best way to secure PHPMyAdmin is to protect the directory it with a password using a .htaccess. Another way/option is to have it installed in directory with a different name, eg. mydbadm, dbadministration, etc.

You can look for an Alias directive on the server, such as :

    Code:
    Alias /phpmyadmin "c:/wamp/apps/phpmyadmin3.1.3.1/"
Ideally it is located at : c:/wamp/alias/phpmyadmin.conf.

Changing the alias directive can be a good option to consider.
