Everyone is aware of virus and outcomes that virus get along with it.There are various types of virus. one of which is Gumblar Virus .The gumblar virus is the one that has started causing problems day by day on many of the computers and websites and its damage is something that is very huge.
Gumblar virus usually aims in taking away the FTP passwords from web designers and site manager and uses it to connect to website servers where it can edit .html .php as well as .js pages and it also adds some extra codes too. It aims to index files and also creates some files in images directories and it can also alter webalizer and awstats files too.
Gumblars virus is very efficient to spread by itself as once it infects a webserver that webserver becomes a carrier and it starts spreading the virus to new computers so if any one browsing to a infected website pickes up the virus, you can imagine how dangerous this gumblar virus is.
This virus has another dangerous feature where it uses vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader so as install itself on a pc.
Steps to prevent Gumblar Virus :-
We cannot stop this Gumblar Virus but can prevent it from happening. as it is always known that PREVENTION IS BETTER THEN CURE
To prevent it all we need to do is just delete all FTP passwords from all application.
