What is the maximum number of network connections a server can support?

May I know the number of network connections a server can support?

A server can support up to 248 connections on a single port, which is about 1 quadrillion because it distinguishes connections by IP address and port. A 32-bit address and a 16-bit port for each source IP address.

The Ethernet cable can be shared by only two devices at a time.

If you need to connect more than 2 devices- use an ethernet network switch.

Yes, it is considered to be the easier setup and you can find switches with up to 8 or more extra connections.

A computer or server can move more data with each additional port for higher throughput. One network can continue to operate while the other is offline for maintenance on separate networks that are connected to the same server.
