  • Backup server HDD full

    Hi,

The HDD on our backup server appears to be full, and has been so for 5 days now. I've been trying to get some action on this but not getting far with your live chat (fobbed me off) or your ticketing system (had one reply that was useless and nothing since).

Ticket ref: [SUPPORT #QUS-449-26621]: backup server disc full

So I haven't had a proper off-site backup for 5 days now, and I'm picking many of your other customers haven't either and just don't know it. You really should have some monitoring on this, but looks like your idea of drive space monitoring is waiting for someone to complain.

    Please action this asap.

    Cheers,
    Dave

      Hello Dave,

      Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

I have updated your ticket "QUS-449-26621" with the exact cause.

Now there shouldn't be any problems with your backups.

          Yes, all sorted thanks.

I still find it difficult to believe that:
"We do have scripts in place and were aware of the issue."
when it took 6 days between it being a problem to fixing it, apparently because:
"We had to check the configuration of all the accounts and space consumed manually on the backup server, hence the delay."

Funny how when I posted on here it took less than an hour between when Chris looked into it, and when he followed it up saying it was fixed - why didn't this bit happen 6 days prior when you became aware of the issue? Surely an hour is a more reasonable time to sort out a HDD space issue than 6 days. Anyway, the post to the forum seemed to get some action at least!

          Cheers,
          Dave

Glad to see that you got it all sorted now.... the initial delay does sound a bit disheartening but glad you got it all sorted in the end .
