  • Email backup

We have a dedicated windows server, (windows server 2008 R2 standard) with plesk control panel.

What we are trying to do is see if there is a way to create a mail backup of all email sent and recieved on the accounts on the server.
Is there a way to manage this with the server, rather than email client rules?

I can set up forwarding on the accounts, and have all received emails sent to backup email addresses, but it doesnt address the issue of sent emails (which are the concearn).

Any suggestions or tips on doing this would be fantastic

    Hello Gerry,

Considering your request, we can offer our CDP R1soft backup plan. R1soft backup provides complete bare metal backup of server.
As you have requested backup of emails only, we can schedule a backup of 'Postoffices' folder and the rest data will be excluded from backup. Data retention of Mail data backup ('Postoffices' folder) of 7 days can be scheduled. You can choose R1soft backup plans from http://www.eukhost.com/backup.php
R1soft backup restoration is explained at http://kb.eukhost.com/restoring-r1soft-cdp3-backup/

Are you looking to archive the incoming and outgoing e-mails as soon as they are received or sent? In that case this isn't something we support out of the box yet as the r1soft solution only takes a backup of a single moment in time. There might be an alternative which is part of a soon to be launched product. This product is billed around a per-domain principle as well which can be interesting as I know some companies base it around the number of mailboxes. Do you have an estimate of the number of domains you're looking to archive or is it just a single domain?
