Re: How to Allow Interactive and Remote Logon to Domain Controllers in Windows Server 2008? Need Help!
Hey Joel
Just follow the steps below outlined to get your issue sorted.
* Connect via RDP to Windows server 2008 domain controller with domain admin credentials.
* Make sure the user account is a member of the Remote Desktop Users group.
* If yes then go ahead and Open Group Policy Management Console(START> Administrative Tools) and locate and expand Domain Controllers organizational unit.
* Right click on the linked Default Domain Controllers Policy group policy and from the available menu click on Edit.
* From the opened snap-in expand Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies and then select User Rights Assignment.
* To Allow Interactive logon: From the right pane double-click on Allow log on locally and from the opened box first check the box Define these policy settings and then click on Add User or Group to add the desired user or group to which you want to grant permission of local logon.
* To Allow Remote Desktop: From the right pane double-click on Allow log through Terminal Services and from the opened box first check the box Define these policy settings and then click on Add User or Group to add the desired user or group to which you want to grant permission of Login on Active directory server using Remote Desktop.
* Run the command gpupdate/force via cmd and try again.
