  • ERROR 1130: Host is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

    Hello,

    If you try to connect to MySQL database from your system you might get the below error :

    ERROR 1130: Host 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

    A point to note is MySQL doesn't allow remote clients to connect to the database by default.

    If you want a specific IP address to access the MySQL database, you can execute the following command on the MySQL database server :

    =============
    $ mysql -u root -p
    Enter password:

    mysql> use mysql

    mysql> GRANT ALL ON *.* to [email protected]'XXX.XXX.XX.X' IDENTIFIED BY 'your-root-password';

    mysql> FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
    ===========================
    Note : XXX.XXX.XX.X -->> The specific IP address

    Once this is done, you will not get the above "Host not allowed" error for the remote IP.
