  • Steps to disable SSL 3.0 protocol for POODLE vulnerability on windows server

    Please refer to the following steps to disable SSL 3.0 protocol for POODLE vulnerability on windows server:

    1. From the windows server, open registry. Before you make any changes in the registry, please take the backup.

    a)Go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\SecurityProviders\Schannel\Protocal



    b)Right click Protocols and select New > Key option.



    c) Naming of the new key should be as SSL 3.0.



    d) Right click SSL 3.0 and create a new key named as Client.



    e) Follow Same way, right click SSL 3.0 and create the key Server.



    f) Go to the Client, right click on it and select New > DWORD (32bit) Value option.



    g) Naming of the DWORD should be as "DisabledByDefault". Double click the DWORD and type 1 as Value data. Click OK to confirm.



    h) The Value Data for DWORD need to set to 1.



    i) Now, you need to repeat the same procedure for Server and assign Enabled as a DWORD name. default Value Data set to 0.



    Once all the settings has been done, please restart the server to complete the process.
