If it serves an ASP page you should prefer windows and for PHP Linux is very much appropriate.

Linux if you are using PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, or CGI scripting and cheaper than window in cost

Along with ASP & .Net, Windows supports PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, or CGI scripting too. It's just that performance of PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, or CGI scripts are better in terms of benchmarking prospects when on a Linux hosting platform!

I would recommend you to start with Windows based reseller plan as Windows platform support almost all the programming languages like ASP, ASP .Net, HTML, PHP , MS SQL, MY SQL as well. Though there are a few constraints with the Windows reseller, it will be more easier for you to approach your targeted audience. As are as Linux platform is concerned PHP, MY SQL are the best supported with the Linux. Also Linux is more cheaper than Windows with better features.

A few more points to add up.

Just because you use a Windows desktop PC in your office does not mean you necessarily should use a Windows-based operating system for your hosting server (and the reverse is true with Linux). The operating system you use on your desktop has little to do with your choice of server operating systems.

The majority of Linux variants are available for free or at a much lower price than Microsoft Windows.
Microsoft Windows products have license.
Windows is much easier to use for new computer users
