So much SEO talk these days! There are a million and one pointers to improve your ranking, but they all pale in comparison to simply writing good content. Look at the actual results on google. There is a ton of empirical evidence right there that half the SEO tips arenít effective over time.

You are indeed on the right track  Nothing can compete your efforts of writing useful and unique content for your website. Though this does not mean that the SEO activities aren't useful, it definitely does help, but everything revolves around the fact that what type of content you have at your site and how people perceive it.

My take on the best search engine marketing strategy is to write for people instead of search engines. Inbound links to your website please the search engines and you can only get those links by pleasing humans rather than bots.

Precisely stated dylandreamer. Many individuals usually tend to forget this fact and work in the direction of putting things in a way that would please the SE bots and crawlers, but often forget that its the Live visitors who'd the final decision makers. If the page displayed seems un-understandable to humans they'd simply move over to the competitors site hence increasing the bounce rate for a website. The more the bounce rate the lower are the chances of a site being ranked well in search engine result pages.

So it is advisable to build content for Live readers, if they find it useful they'd share it, bookmark it, etc. which is tracked by most of the search engines hence followed by an increasing rankings in the SERP's.

Bear in mind that Google is always changing their algorithms for search engine rankings. And they do so precisely to prevent people from gaming the system. Ignore the SEO fads and practice common sense SEO. Google will be happy and your visitors will keep returning.
