    Tips to cut bandwith

What are some tips to cut bandwith? I run a forum currently, and we installed an arcade last month. WE saw our bandwith jump 30% because of it. I am really worried that we will end up going over the limit. Some of my mods have suggested disallowing certain members from using the arcade and disallowing guests. Do you think this will work? What are your ways to keep bandwith low?

Restricting arcade use does seem to be the best way to try and lower the bandwidth usage. Another thing to make sure of is to make sure members cannot use avatars over a certain size (eg set a limit at 100 by 100 pixels or 64.0 KB, whichever is smaller)
Interesting, let me think on this....... to the think tank!

You can also disable hot linking too within CPanel so nobody can rape your BW there.

Oh my haven't given much thought to bandwidth before. So are you saying that having a forum on your site can take up a lot of it or is it just adding the games that did it. What exactly will cause you to use up a good bit of it so I can be on the lookout later on.

I agree with your mods about making the arcade not available to guests. Also, make sure to keep scammers from registering on your forum. Scammers are really bandwidth robbers.
