    Dedicated Mail Server

Recently, we have migrated our old but revamped website from a VPS to a new web hosting server. On a regular basis, we usually send about 6000 emails per month and the email list is growing as well. The provider has provided us only one dedicated ip address which we have assigned to our website. We have heard that people are getting their IP address blacklisted, and we certainly don't want to get our site ip blacklisted.

Is it a good idea to get a new dedicated mail server or get a new dedicated IP address and continue with the existing server and use it for mailing purpose ? Any guidance would be appreciated...

Basically, I don't see any problem in going with your existing server. You should not worry about getting your IP blacklisted unless you are sending spam emails. It would be much better to use the same dedicated server with a new dedicated ip address.

Absolutely, separating your services in to different servers, won't make any difference but it will cost you a bit more. IMO, you should just buy a new ip address and assign it for your mail sending activities.

It completely depends upon your budget. A normal dedicated server can allow you to send about 3600 emails per hour, hence, I don't think there should be any problem in sending 6000 email per month from the same server along with hosting your website on it. Still if you want to get a new mail server, make sure you have a strong budget. You should not worry about getting blacklisted as long as you not spamming your subscribers mailbox.

Seems like the easiest route too. What type of emails are you sending out? We had a few of ours blacklisted randomly as well with an old host who had some insane rules regarding emails.
I took a long vacation but I'm back!
