Absolutely agree with Matt here. Check forums and social networking sites, as then you can be guaranteed there's less chance of any biasedness which may happen on specific web hosting review and popularity sites.

Review sites are the pre-sales sites. People who usually are about to buy a product will visit the review sites just before taking out their purses for purchase. So a good reliable review site will help the site owner make money in commissions also if the site has related affiliate product advertisements along with the reviews. A review site must provide correct unbiased pros and cons of the product, and if the product or service review is a genuine first-hand (personal) experience, then readers can make up their minds much faster about getting the product or service. This is where the quality reviews can appeal to potential customers and help make quicker sales.

Are the reviews genuine? Well, most people would be sold by the quality of the content, as usual. But in the case of review sites, it is here that most people would bring out the money from the pockets to buy.

They are the money-in-hand very targeted potential buyers because they are already looking to buy and are at the review site to get the last-minute information, compared to other sites like article submission sites or related personal blogs.

Well, in my personal opinion, one should always opt for a provider who can offer you at least 99.95% uptime guarantee, 24/7 customer support via different channels and a 30-day money back guarantee. Going with a good web host for a month is a great way to check out their reliability and service. If you are not satisfied with their service, you can anytime claim the money back within the 30-day from sign-up.

They should be one of the tools you use to evaluate a host. They are reliable to an extent but by their nature they can be abused sometimes.....

It's also good to try out a host first hand and see how it shapes it to what it claims - if you pick one with a money back guarantee then their is no risk involved .

Reviews sites are those where reviews can be posted about various people, companies, products and services. There are many good and bad reviews websites, which also helps in determining a better solution. However, due to large competition businesses are paying money for paid reviews. Due to such actions, people are misled to bad web hosting providers. There are many ways through which you can spot fake online reviews.

The best way to review a web hosting company is to check out their official forums. Most of the customers put their personal reviews on the official forum of web hosting provider. Providers who are genuine will keep all the good and bad reviews as it is on their forums.
