Which control panel should I choose for unmanaged hosting?

    Hello,

I am going to buy an unmanaged VPS for running some websites on it but don't have experience in choosing web control panels to install and manage websites. So, which one would you recommend using for unmanaged hosting? include paid and free software.

    Hello,

Well, the first question is, which OS you have installed on your VPS?

Assume you have installed Linux then cPanel is the best control panel for you. It is easy to use, and widely used so getting help if you need it is easy.

      Hello,

Should PHP sites utilise Linux as their operating system?
What are the requirements for using cPanel or Directadmin on an unmanaged VPS? Do you want to learn more about CentOS Web Panel?

        Hello,

Yes. Although a PHP site can be hosted under Windows/Plesk, a Windows VPS will be more expensive due to Windows licence charges.

Regardless of whose control panel you choose, you should have at least 2GB of RAM and 1 CPU core. Make careful to inquire about the virtualization platform used by your host. OpenVZ is less expensive, but it relies on shared resources and can easily be oversold, resulting in a significant loss in server performance. Xen and KVM often provide fully dedicated resources.

          Hello,

KVM is just as easy to overcommit CPU/RAM as OpenVZ; the only distinction is disc, which is handled via volume groups. Xen used to be the standard for high performance, but KVM has since far surpassed it. OpenVZ, depending on the provider (be cautious), may deliver the best performance due to the lowest overhead.

            Hello,

I think cPanel would be the best option for you. It is easy to use and there are plenty of tutorials also available on the web. So, anyone can easily learn and manage their servers.

              Yes, I agree with you.

cPanel is the best option if you are using Linux operating system. Most of the people prefer cPanel to manage their web hosting account.

An unmanaged VPS hosting is free management of a personal virtual server. Having control of your server means you have control over every option on the server. You can eliminate add-ons and software packages as you see fit or you could mold the server’s settings in order to optimize it properly for a specific web task. Freedom aside, unmanaged Linux VPS hosting is attractive to customers because it is a lot cheaper than a managed Linux VPS server. Linux virtual servers provide users with the ability to fully take control and manipulate their OS of choice.
