    Power outage in Reading

Can someone please tell me why a power outage has stopped all my websites and email from working?

Don't you have multiple layers of backup power as would be expected of a data centre?

The last thing I would expect to cause problems is lack of electricity! That's why we have UPS systems surely?

Really not a good performance and to me it's just another nail in the coffin. Getting really sick of having to either go on live chat or submit tickets because everything's stopped working or the security has been compromised yet again etc etc

I'm trying to run a business and spending time trying to solve IT problems or twiddling my thumbs unable to send or receive emails is losing me money.

    Not impressed.

    Andy.

      Hi Andy,

I am very sorry for the disruption the power outage had caused. The network is back online and our engineers are booting servers up sequentially. Our CTO will be providing more details regarding the outage in due course.

      Kind regards,

      Ben Stones.

I'm just glad my dedicated server hadn't yet been moved to Reading, I've got 4 vm's down as it is.

Unfortunately ours was moved in September and just had about an hours downtime.

Why is it always when I've got a deadline does something happens!

Will be interested to see the CTO post on the issue.

              Hello everyone,

Our engineers are actively bringing back online our VMware nodes and all VMs should be online within the next 10 - 25 minutes. All vLite VPS nodes are back online.

              Kind regards,

              Ben Stones.

All VMs on eNlight ukr3 are online. Over half are back online on eNlight ukr4 - other VMs on ukr4 will be back online very shortly.

Andy: the Senior Admins are working on it
EJ: So, prority has been to get your forum server back online, before my vmware customer Cloud?

EJ: is it still "in the queue"?!
Andy: sure ones we have got it up we will provide you with that

                        EJ: Please do
Andy: sure give me some more time
                        Astoundingly poor all round.
I have been shopping around for a reliable provider.

Why am I getting upset? We've got a forum back up and running - so I should stop complaining I guess!!!

I'm still on Live Chat with no update..
Andy: Please allow me some time to look into the issue.
EJ: I asked a simple question, really, I did.
Andy: I will provide you with a detailed report on the vmware Cloud a as soon as i have a update on it
EJ: Where is it in the queue, for getting the issue resolved?
EJ: Is that a simpler question to take onboard?
Andy: Please allow me some time to look into the issue.
What gives? Is it too much to ask for a Snr. Tech/CTO to give us an update to this fiasco?
