Change host pitfalls

Hi

I have a web site hosting that is being hosted else ware.

I do not have any control over it as it is hosted and changed by a third party.

I own the domain name and can move it if I wish.

This web site hosting comes up on first page of google.

If I copied the web site hosting and hosted it here would I loose my google placing?

Google does not rank the IPs or the server but the web site hosting URL. It will not affect your Google ranking if you move hosts/servers... unless you have a major down time or broken URLs.

I agree with euk-Martin,the PR will remain unaffected since the domain name is same, just make sure don't change the theme & web site hosting structure.
