  • Thinking of a Business Name

I'm trying to think of a business name, but am utterly useless when it comes to these sorts of things. I'm looking into starting my own design/hosting business a few months down the line, but need to get the name sorted in the next few weeks.

    All tips appreciated.

Nah, thanks for the idea though.

Have been considering something like 'WJH Hosting', but Tom says to avoid the 'letter' route, and I think it sounds a little tacky. So I'm stuck.

Name makes no difference in online industry. Try to avoid using common words like UK, Web, Hosting as these words won't allow you to trademark name of your company. Most successful companies on the web have done this to get Trademark for their names.

Google, Yahoo, MSN, Godaddy, Enom and some other companies have absolutely no meaning in their names nor do they include any common keywords in their names. If you are looking for long term success in online industry then choose someone thing comedaddy or Hahoo!.

Thanks Mark. That sounds like a very good tip. Will take it into consideration.
