  • What is Deep link?

    Hey....
Basically Deep linking is making a hyperlink that points to a specific page or image on a website, instead of that website's home page.Websites which are built on web technologies such as Adobe Flash and AJAX often do not support deep linking. This can result in usability problems for people visiting such websites. For example, visitors to these websites may be unable to save bookmarks to individual page

Basically deep linking is the linking of information to another page from a website page instead of the actual home page itself. A regular link will point to yahoo.com for example, where as a deep link will point to a particular web page inside of yahoo. Or perhaps consider a regular link will point to the MySpace homepage, a deep link will point to a members profile or some other specific feature page inside of MySpace.

Deep linking is creating a hyperlink that points to a specific web page or a picture on some website. The url of a deep link contains all the information for pointing to the respective item. Most of the commercial websites object the other websites by creating deep links into their content. This is mainly done either to avoid the advertising done on the main pages.

Deep linking is linking to the specific interior page or product on a Merchant's site that your visitor is interested in (as opposed to just linking to the home page of the Merchant).

We have been already using. Only thing the name is not known (Deep link, something interesting).

By taking the visitor directly to the information that they desire, you greatly increase the chances of converting that visitor into a sale. If you only link to the homepage of the Merchant then you are forcing that visitor to takes several more steps to find the product that they want. It is far better to make it easy for the visitor and send them directly to the product page.

Deep link stands for a link that links to a inner page of your site. Good deep linking is an effective way to ensure your pages get the attention they deserve and that your customers can find the information they require easily.

6 main reasons why you cannot afford to ignore deep links:

                          1. Deep links can create relevance for your websites
                          2. You get lots of quality traffic to your website
                          3. Create visibility on the internet
                          4. Achieve a higher rank in the search engines
                          5. External deep links + internal deep links = domain authority

One of the greatest advantages of deep linking is that it enables you to understand your website in much better way. Deep links enables your visitors to have a look at your home page; there is no way people can access your website if the deep links are not used. Once the deep links are specified, it will be easy for you to track the pages that are mostly viewed by the visitors and the pages that are causing more conversions. Thereby you get a better understanding of your website. This also helps in terms of planning your web hosting activities as it becomes easy for you to understand how the online transactions can be enhanced and and the resources required to do so.

A deep link is a hypertext link to a page on a Web site other than its home page. The "deep" refers to the depth of the page in a site's hierarchical structure of pages. Any page below the top page in the hierarchy (the home page) can thus be considered deep.
Deep Linking helps pages other than the home page to rank for their targeted keyword phrases.

Deep linking also builds authority. Google sees sites with lots of links to lots of URLs as MUCH more of an authority than sites with almost all of those exact same links pointing to their home page.
