I have often heard of Google Sandbox, but I have no idea what it is and how it works. Can you enlighten me on this subject? How to know that your website is in the sandbox?

This is basically my theory that may or may not be true. Considering your on-site optimization is good Google may give you top positions in the search engine within the first 30 days of submitting your site. Signup for a Google Analytics account and you should be able to find out which keywords your website ranks high for. After the first 30 days Google should be done fully indexing your website. If your website no longer shows up for the keywords that Google initially gave you then your website is in the sandbox. To get yourself out of the sandbox just submit your website to various "free" directories to get a bunch of one-way links.

Sandbox is an effect than a theory. Though Google has not acknowledged it, but according to experts the sandbox effect almost certainly refers to a set of filters in play for anti-spam purposes, it is hardly possible that Google provide any details on this matter. Websites would usually be sandboxed when they try manipulating Google rankings by using any unethical mean of SEO. Few SEO experts claim that the sandbox is applicable only to the highly competitive or broad keyword phrases.

The Google Sandbox is an alleged filter placed on new websites. The result is a site does not receive good rankings for its most important keywords and keyword phrases. Even with good content, abundant incoming links and strong Google PageRank, a site is still adversely affected by the Sandbox effect.

Sandbox?
Hi Friends,
The Google Sandbox Effect is a theory used to explain why newly-registered domains or domains with frequent ownership changes rank poorly in Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). In other words new websites are put into a "sandbox" or a holding area and have their search ratings on hold until they can prove worthy of ranking.
Thanks and Regards
