    Yahoo! Answers for traffic building?

Does anyone have any experience with Yahoo! Answers regarding traffic building / getting backlinks etc.? I'm considering to start a campaign but I'm pondering whether it is worth the time and effort. The links from Yahoo! Answers are no follow, right? I heard that Y!A is heavily moderated and they may delete your links for no reason...

I've used yahoo answers for some SEO with mixed results.. however depending on the question area you will get some uniques from them and the links will show in G after a while.

Getting a mix of do follow and no follow links is not a bad thing

If you keep the answers on topic, 1 link, good information they should stay up - I've never had any removed yet and always add in a link, and a good few lines of text.. just pick the questions carefully, answer sensibly and you will be ok

Most of the website owners haven't succeeded in getting good traffic and backlinks from Yahoo answers. It is due to the fact that Yahoo answers do not give dofollow backlinks and most of the links (even if relevant) are removed by the moderators if they find that you have just answered the questions to get a link. Therefore, it's better to look for some other techniques.

Odd that.. I have 100 answers.. 47 chosen as best and get unique visitors everyday from the answers to various sites .. and for the backlinks they show up in G if you search for my site (granted if you "url") and generally push sites up the serps.

Regardless of anyone's replies for a few minutes a day and doing it right it's not going to harm your site

Y! Answers comes up in a ton of stuff and I am sure there is a way that it can work with most sites, but not all. I guess it would depend what type of industry you are in too.
I took a long vacation but I'm back!
