what is the difference between inbound links, outbound links and backlinks?

    Hi Friends,

I have started doing off page activities and started building links from directory and article submissions. I would like to know which links will I get from doing this inbound or outbound links.

    Regards,
    Suresh.

Inbound links and Backlinks are the same which means that your website has it's links on other websites and Outbound links means that your website has links for some other websites on it.

If you submit links in directories and articles in article submissions sites, you will get inbound links for your website which are beneficial in terms of SEO and will help you to get better rankings in search engines. You should make sure that you have minimum outbound links on your website as if there are many outbound links, the link juice of your website will be forwarded to them and they will get a benefit.

Inbound links and Backlinks Both are same. Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page. The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page.

Backlinks from Google means the number of incoming links reported by Google.

Google will not list all your backlinks, it will list only the backlink websites which has the page rank more than 4. Google is not indexing all the pages than it has in the past. It show only the number of high quality links. While Yahoo and MSN mostly list all your backlinks.

Outbound links are just that are pointing to other from your site...

            Hi Friends,

Inbound links (also known "back links") are links that are directly pointing towards your website and web page's. Search engine spiders crawl these links and appropriate a ranking based on a variety of factors, namely the quality of the incoming link, but also a slew of other metrics.

            Outbound links:

These are the links pointing to other websites from your website

            Backlink

            Inbound link known as Backlink.
