Most of the visitors on the site enter the popular keywords of the specific niche, especially the ones who are not very familiar with the internet and search engines. Hence, it is important to concentrate on primary keywords first after which one can concentrate on other keywords. Optimizing the keywords with less competition can prove to be a good benefit as the visitors of the website will increase and thus the sales.

Whether your website ranked well for high competition keywords or less competition keywords, do that position actually convert into sales lead is the main question.
Seems you are under the impression of some idiotic theories on the Internet regarding to SEO and thinking that the only way to get traffic and sales is from search engines. So I would suggest you to concentrate on products and services that you are selling. Do some research on the niche you are targeting along with competitor analysis and then start looking at marketing.
