https provide more security so it is more good but we can use any one because both are good and usable.

Totally agree. When you get mutlipe responses suggesting a particular thing or supporting an idea then it makes you more confident about accepting and implementing it.

Yeah, yeah, I believe you. Am I not always correct? (Chance would be a fine thing!). Sometimes one needs to read between the lines with succinct answers.

Http and Https both are good, https is used for getting more security.

It's not only the user experience you'd want to think about when it comes to the "performance loss", but also the fact that search engines will take into account the speed and responsiveness of your website (search engine optimisation) and using SSL where unnecessary can potentially affect your site's SEO in this regard.
    Absolutely correct.

The prime objective of having an SSL installed to protect crucial information such as contact, credit/debit card information etc. from falling into the hands of fraudsters. Using an encryption technology the information is encrypted at a server level and decrypted at the access point browser. You wouldn't want the bots (it needn't always be the search engine bots always) to reach out to those pages, or do you? If No then what's the point in having those pages behind an SSL ie. https. If you have your webpages for public display which if crawled by search engines bots would also pass SEO benefits, then what's the point in having them put behind an SSL.

IMHO. only protect the crucial pages with an SSL and not the entire website.

    Hi Simon,

SSLs are used only for security purposes & they won't make any difference in SEO, albeit you get an exclusive (non-shared) IP address, it doesn't really make any difference
