We have recently introduced the debug mode into our editor.

If you ever find yourself in the situation where you have added some code and now your editor fails to load or a page is suddenly inaccessible, you can use the debug mode to delete said code.

STEP 1. Log into your editor

The example above shows an editor where we have added some code and now the site is not loading. Please log in and click on the Manage button on the left tab.

STEP 2. Turn debug mode on

how Debug mode works 2

Click on Debug mode and then click on the Turn debug mode on button. By clicking on this button you will be momentarily disabling all scripts you have added to your site.

STEP 3. Click on Site

Click on the Site tab on the left. Your site should be loading now without any problem.

Go to the page where you have added the script and hover over the area where your code used to be. The Embed widget will only be visible when your mouse is on top of it (like in the picture above). Just delete the widget and then turn the debug mode off.

The Debug mode also works for deleting Head and Body scripts added onto the page settings. If you are not able to access the Manage tab after adding some code, please get in touch with us and we will be very happy to help you.

THE MANAGE TAB IS NOT WORKING

If the Manage tab stops working due to the code added to a page, you can also try a couple of things.

1. Log into your editor and then, without closing the session, type on the browser address bar the following URL: manage.sitejam.com

This should open the Manage tab and the Debug mode feature should be accessible for you.

2. If the previous option does not work for you, please try disabling javascript on your browser and then go to your editor. By disabling Javascript you’ll be able to click on the Manage tab to access the debug mode function.

HOW TO DISABLE JAVASCRIPT ON YOUR BROWSER

FIREFOX. For Firefox you will need to go to this address: about:config

Once there you need to find javascript.enabled, which value should be true. You need to change it to False.

CHROME. To disable javascript on Chrome you need to follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Chrome menu icon on the top right of your broser (looks like 3 horizontal lines)
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Show advanced settings
  4. Under the “Privacy” section, click the¬†Content settings¬†button.
  5. In the “Javascript” section, select “Do not allow any site to run JavaScript”
