The below steps will help you to change your WordPress website domain. In this example, we will make these changes to reflect a move from blog.yourdomain.com to just yourdomain.com. However, this can be accomplished between any domain or sub-domain you have hosted.

Note:

The steps defined here will NOT help you to move website site files for you! You will need to do this manually by using your FTP details. These instructions will only help you to update WordPress to reflect the correct domain name after you have moved your files. It’s better to take a backup of your file before making any changes via FTP.
