We have implemented a Server Mirroring Solution with FAM (File Alteration Monitor) and RSYNC modules to achieve Web Hosting with a 100% Uptime SLA. Each Business Web Hosting account runs on two high end configuration servers, located in two different racks. One of these servers is set as master server and the other is set as slave server. All websites run on the master server and any files which get modified are flagged by FAM which then requests RSYNC to transfer the files to the slave server. The data is immediately moved and the entire process takes a fraction of a second. This process also doesn't use any additional resources and it therefore won't affect the performance of your websites.
If for some reason the master server goes down, the mirroring script running on the slave server binds the secondary IP of the master server (the IP allocated to websites) and all other Dedicated IPs. Websites then start resolving from the slave server in a fraction of a second and they will function as normal. Our Support Department will then take the necessary steps to bring the master server back online and sync with the latest available data on the slave server.
In addition to this "master-slave" setup we maintain a daily backup of the server on remote backup servers. There will be a backup of your data for every day of the week.
