Both of these servers are Dual Quad Core Xeons and each has 12 GB of RAM. All websites run on the master server and any files which get modified are flagged by FAM and FAM the requests RSYNC to transfer the files to the slave server. The data is immediately moved and the entire process takes a fraction of a second. This process also doesn't use any additional resources and it therefore won't effect the performance of your websites.

If for some reason the master server goes down, the mirroring script running on the slave server binds the secondary IP of the master server (the IP allocated to websites) and all other Dedicated IPs. Websites will then start resolving from the slave server in a fraction of a second and your websites will perform in the same way that they did on the master server.
