To enable or disable author archive pages, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your WordPress website.
  2. Once logged in, navigate to your “Dashboard”.

  3. In the sidebar, click on “Yoast SEO”.
  4. From the expanded “Yoast SEO” menu, click on “Settings”.

  5. Adjust the settings to enable or disable author archive pages as needed.
  6. On the left-hand side, locate and click the “Advanced” heading, then choose “Author archives” from the expanded menu to access the Author archives settings.

  7. Adjust the “Enable author archives” switch according to your site’s configuration-
    1. For single-author sites, it is advisable to deactivate author archives to prevent duplicate content issues. When deactivated, Yoast SEO will redirect author archive pages to the homepage and remove the author sitemap. To deactivate this feature, toggle the switch off.
    2. For sites with multiple authors, it is recommended to activate author archives and tailor the author sitemap. When activated, author archive pages will be available, and Yoast SEO will generate the author sitemap. To activate this feature, toggle the switch on.
