How to Fix “UNKNOWN” in WHM OS Distribution after RPM Database Corruption

If you find “UNKNOWN” displayed at the top of WHM near the cPanel version after logging in, it may be due to RPM database corruption. To resolve this issue and restore accurate OS information, follow the below article.

Execute the following commands-

  1. Log in to SSH.
  2. Use the below command to fix most RPM database issues-
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/find_and_fix_rpm_issues
  3. To correct the “UNKNOWN” part at the top of WHM, execute the following command-
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/gensysinfo
  4. Restart cPanel to make sure the modifications take effect and are viewable-
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/restartsrv_cpsrvd
